Flag Springs Church was honored with the presence and ministry of evangelist Mark and Judy Lavine on November 15, 2009 in the Sunday morning service and the evening service also. Brother Mark has been in the evangelistic ministry for many years ministering through out the United States and also in Canada.

Evangelist Mark Lavine & Wife Judy
Rev. Mark Lavine is a native of the Oklahoma state and his ministry goes back many years as an experienced evangelist in preaching the gospel message. He humorously commented that he was from a small town in which you had to walk down the street to the city park to find lighting at night. He provided a clear and articulate gospel message for everyone who sat under his ministry. In both of his sermons Sunday morning and Sunday evening he brought a enjoyable message of exhortation and commandment of serious intimate worship, praise and attitude sprinkled by his own personal country humor that held the congregation’s attention as he spoke.

In the Sunday morning service his text was taken from the book of Acts 16 verse 16 in which we are commanded to praise God in everything we do. He showed how Paul and Silas even in their depressing circumstances of being imprisoned unjustly, became an encouragement and an example of what God wants to do for those who continues to praise him under all the depressing circumstances that we humans face on a daily basis. He explained how the name of Jehovah can literally become the breath of God when spoken in worship and praise with uplifted hands.
Sunday evening service continued along the same lines as a Sunday morning service in our personal Thanksgiving and our continuous daily walk with God through praise, worship and fellowship with Christ Jesus. Some of his text was also taken from first Thessalonians 5:16-18. Here again he reminded us that worshiping is giving something back to God for all that God has given to us. A very notable subject matter. In verse 18 of Thessalonians we are to remember that in everything-we are to give thanks with an attitude of gratitude.

Rev Mark Lavine Sunday Evening
He included Psalms 107 verse 1-2 that reads; “That we who know and trust Christ are to make a joyful noise unto the Lord in our walk with him.
As a side note; Brother Mark commented on how much the church was progressing since his last time visit of being with us during the state convention a few months ago. Indeed Pastor Alan Smith has brought much spiritual refreshment, guidance, counseling, and physical church construction to the Flag Springs Church in anticipation of church growth and revival.
We were all uplifted by the Sunday night service which saw a much larger crowd than normal considering the rainy weather and the early arrival of darkness during the November days. We were also honored to have both Mark Lavine and his wife in our adult Sunday school class discussing Bible prophecy Sunday morning.

Sunday Night Crowd
We greatly appreciated brother Mark’s spiritual encouragement as well as his message of worship, praise and humor, including the opportunity to fellowship with he and his wife Judy and we have flag Springs Church look forward to their return again soon. So this coming Thanksgiving of 2009 should be a reminder to each of us to remember brother Mark’s message of Thanksgiving and worship for all the good things that God blessed each of us with in salvation through Jesus Christ his son, our family, our freedom and God’s eternal promises to each of us when we place our trust, faith, and hope in him.
